The Mediatek Dimensity 1050 is the company’s first mmWave 5G SoC. The new chip will seamlessly switch between mmWave and slower sub-6GHz 5G. Mediatek will tap TSMC and its 6nm manufacturing process. Mediatek is joining the mmWave 5G party with the Dimensity 1050, its first-ever system-on-chip (SoC) supporting the fastest flavor of 5G.
Mediatek is one of the leading providers of smartphone semiconductors, with its chips used in a wide range of devices.
The ZTE Axon 9 Pro is a key smartphone for the company in several ways. It’s the manufacturer’s first high-end phone since U.S. sanctions were lifted, and it’s also ZTE’s first traditional Axon flagship since the Axon 7 and Axon 7s.
The Axon 7 stood out thanks to a stacked spec sheet and lower than usual price tag. So how does the Axon 9 Pro compare? Take a look at the full ZTE Axon 9 Pro specs below:

Apple was reportedly number one in the US in Q4 2021, with Samsung a distant second. Motorola occupied third place, while Alcatel and OnePlus rounded out the top five. OnePlus achieved over 520% yearly growth in the region. Apple and Samsung are the perennial top performers in the US smartphone market, and a Q4 2021 report has reaffirmed this while also showing that other players have made major strides.
Xiaomi Mi MaxThe Mi Max certainly feels like a first attempt at what is largely unchartered territory for Xiaomi. While it has undercut the competition in price, it has also cut corners in many areas: the device's cheap build quality, poor imported device software experience, and lack U.S. availability are clearly disappointing attributes. But no smartphone is perfect, and the Mi Max has plenty to offer for the price. Its impressive camera, excellent battery life, and smooth performance are all great reasons to buy this phone.
Samsung’s online-exclusive mid-tier M series has a brand new member on board. The company has launched the Samsung Galaxy M31 in India as a successor to last year’s Galaxy M30 series.
The new Galaxy M31 goes head-on against the likes of the Poco X2, Realme X2 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro in terms of pricing. Samsung has done well for itself by launching smartphones that can give its Chinese rivals some real competition, although the X2 phones have a refresh rate and horsepower advantage.
There seem to be two distinct issues with the phone. Some users have noticed the volume keeps dropping randomly while playing videos, while others report that it gets too loud for things like notifications, screenshots, the camera shutter button, and other system sounds. The latter seems to be a more common issue and adjusting the volume sliders doesn’t help fix the problem.
“I first noticed this when I went to record a voice message in WhatsApp; touching the mic and releasing it both resulted in very loud sounds.
Some people are complaining that the latest build – 9202.35.8 – is causing their Google Wifi hub to turn into a solid blue state; fortunately, Google has acknowledged this issue and will be releasing a fix in the near future.

Just last year, Google introduced the Google Wifi, its own answer to many of the problems that conventional Wi-Fi routers pose. The mesh system promises better connectivity and subtler aesthetics, and while Google’s router was very well-received at launch, it’s had its own issues.
It is a new era for Google. One in which users don’t have to opt for a supersized smartphone just to get the Nexus experience. The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X have come to complete the equation with a couple form factors, varied prices and different levels of performance. The time for the Nexus 6 to die was imminent, and Google has pulled the chord today.
