It’s believed the company is ditching the tech due to a “lack of clear advantages.” We saw 3D ToF sensors coming to smartphones back in 2018, allowing devices to more accurately calculate depth effects and augmented reality in theory. Samsung adopted the tech on the back of its phones too, before ditching it for the Note 20 and Galaxy S21 series.

T-Mobile LG V10 Nougat update finally lands in the US

Update: The LG V10 Android Nougat update has just hit the US, courtesy of T-Mobile, after first arriving in South Korea in late May. The update weighs a hefty 1.3 GB so be sure to have plenty of battery and available space for the update, and install it only over Wi-Fi. It bumps the V10 software to version H90130b and includes an E911 timer fix as well as delivering all the benefits of Android Nougat alongside the usual stability and performance fixes.

Samsung has unveiled its latest ultra-premium clamshell phone at an event in Xiamen, China, and it’s an absolute monster. As is usually the case with Samsung’s flagship “flip phones”, the W2018 will only retail in Asia and is expected to cost upwards of $2,000.The South Korean giant’s new W-series phone is a successor to last year’s W2017, not the Leader 8 which was announced just a few months ago. The W2018’s launch also marks the range’s tenth anniversary, as well as Samsung’s 25th in the Chinese market in general.

Xiaomi launches special edition 'Hatsune Miku' Redmi Note 4X

Xiaomi took the wraps off the Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku limited edition smartphone in China today. Based on the information the company shared with the public, the newly announced smartphone is identical to the Redmi Note 4 (Indian version) but will appeal to all fans of the Japanese hologram pop star. The company will announce pricing details closer to launch, which is scheduled for February 14. We do know some specs though: 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage.
