The Samsung Galaxy Round launched on October 10 as the first smartphone with a curved display, a title that Samsung narrowly snagged from bitter local rival LG.
It’s safe to say that the Round was not what most of us expected from flexible display technology, after Samsung teased it for years as a game changing feature. That’s because the Round is more of a proof of concept than a real attempt to make curved smartphones a mass-market success.

Samsung has extended three years of Android OS updates to Galaxy A phones for the first time. This includes “regular” security updates. Only the Galaxy A52 5G qualifies at first, however, as others are stuck with two years. The new Galaxy A update policy only applies to the A52 5G for now, but it also promises three years of “regular” (likely monthly) security patches. You’ll also get a fourth year of security fixes beyond that, although that may be limited to two releases per year.
