You can now reserve a Galaxy S22 smartphone or Galaxy Tab S8 tablet. Reservations earn you a $50 credit and the ability to be one of the first to pre-order the devices. Pre-orders will open at some point in February. Earlier today, Samsung dropped some thinly-veiled hints related to its next big smartphones and tablets. Included with that teaser, the company announced that reservations for the new products would start today at 10:00 AM ET.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge may not be the latest hotness from Samsung, with the Galaxy S8 and the Note 8 stealing the thunder, but both phones are still very capable and popular even in 2018. Both devices have luxuriously bright and saturated AMOLED displays, perfect for showcasing colorful and detailed wallpapers. But plenty of other new smartphones have displays of equal resolution and brightness and everybody loves a good wallpaper gallery.
Huawei has unveiled a new flagship processor alongside its new Mate series of smartphones. The Kirin 9000 powers the entire range of Mate 40 handsets, promising better efficiency and more powerful networking features than previous generations.
Headline features of the Kirin 9000 include a smaller, more energy-efficient 5nm manufacturing process. Apple is also on 5nm for the A14 chip inside the iPhone 12, Samsung is using it for its mid-tier Exynos 1080, and we’re also expecting Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship Snapdragon chip to be based on this node.

Regardless of one’s personal opinion of Samsung and the evolution of its flagship smartphones and tablets, the brands “Galaxy S” and “Galaxy Tab S” are synonymous with one-thing, and one thing only: the Korean OEM’s top-tier, flagship Android products. Curious, then, that at CES earlier this month, the company unveiled the Galaxy TabPro S: it’s a high spec tablet that makes use of a 12-inch AMOLED display and that looks and sounds like it’s all up in Android’s business-centric business…yet is weirdly wed to Windows.

TL;DR
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are getting their final update. The February 2022 security release is a cumulative one for the 2018 Pixels. Google won’t issue any more software updates for the phones. Google just rolled out the February 2022 Android security patch for Pixel phones, and it looks like this is the end of the road as far as updates are concerned for two of Google’s older flagships.
