No internet? The Google app has a hidden game to occupy your time

Although free Wi-Fi and decent wireless network connections abound these days, there are still plenty of times where you might find yourself without an internet connection on your smartphone. Oh, the horror! Luckily, Google has you covered: there’s a new hidden game inside the Google app that can be played without a data connection. In fact, the best way to access it is to turn off your data. As first spotted by Android Police, the game is a lot like Flappy Bird (RIP), albeit with a cute little cloud character instead of a bird.

Paying several hundred dollars, or even over $1,000, is a lot of scratch for a cellphone. In fact, some think it’s too much. For that kind of money you could buy a solid laptop, a decent camera, a good 4K TV, or make one monthly lease payment on a Porsche 911. An Android-based alternative to the Switch

TL;DR GPD has revealed that it’s readying a new Android gaming handheld. The new device features a Nintendo Switch-style form factor. It’s believed the handheld will offer a Helio G95 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. GPD is one of the more notable players in the handheld space, offering a variety of gaming-focused handhelds running Android or Windows. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an Android device though, dating back to 2018’s GPD XD Plus, but it looks like the company is readying a new handheld in this regard.

Tekken Mobile soft launches in Canada, pre-register for its US release

Update #2 (01/31/18): Bandai Namco has announced the launch dates for its upcoming Tekken Mobile game. The title will launch on February 1 in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, before moving further West in the following weeks. Tekken Mobile will hit the U.K., Germany, France, Spain and other European nations on February 15, before landing in the U.S. on March 1.  Bandai Namco says it has received “1,500,000 pre-registrations” for the title already, and to celebrate, has revealed a new mobile exclusive character.
