Thecoronavirus outbreak paused everything and put the world on lock-down. It was a photographer’s nightmare. Landscape, street, nature, and event photography were very limited, and often near impossible. This gave us a different perspective and made us realize that sometimes we need to stay creative, even when stuck at home. Quarantine photography can be great, and you can continue to thrive in your career.
I’ve been hiding behind walls too, but this doesn’t mean my photography career (and hobby) is on halt.

Over the course of the last year, I’ve been increasingly seeing a strange new gadget at the industry events and conventions I attend. You’ve probably seen them as expensive alternatives to selfie sticks, but smartphone gimbals are increasingly being used by consumers to help them achieve a Steadicam video effect. I personally own a gimbal stabilizer for my mirrorless camera, and I know first hand what kind of advantages it offers over the built-in stabilization in my camera.
When it comes to technology, bigger numbers are typically better – from battery capacity, pixel density, RAM and so on – but the same is also true of satellites (I guess). Google has just announced it has upgraded its satellite imagery from the Landsat 7 satellite to, you guessed it, the Landsat 8. But it’s not just a shiny new satellite imagery we’re getting either, cos Google also has an all-new image processing technique too.

TL;DR
Reliable leaker Evan Blass shared an image of a red OnePlus Nord 2. This is the first time we’ve seen the phone in a color that’s not the usual teal or gray. OnePlus has launched several red phones, but not in the Nord line. OnePlus has a very distinct branding identity that uses two colors prominently: red and white. As such, you’d think the company would release a lot of phones that incorporate those two colors, but that’s not the case for some reason.
Did you get yourself a nifty Sphero BB-8 Star Wars droid? The app-controlled spherical robot is about the coolest tech toy we have seen hit the market in a long time. And using your phone to move the android around is only the basic feature; this thing is smarter than one would imagine. One of its perks is the ability to recognize your voice and react to it. There was only one issue – though this was a very widely advertised feature, it wasn’t a capability that was available to Android users at launch.
Activision Blizzard
Gaming fans are fanatical, but Blizzard game fans are truly hardcore. The fanbase for the many popular gaming franchises of Blizzard Entertainment is not only huge, but these folks take their gaming seriously. That’s why Blizzard holds its occasional BlizzCon fan events to celebrate both their games and the fan communities that have formed around them. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, Blizzard is holding its (mostly) annual BlizzCon 2021 event completely online.
The G5 is a step in a new direction for LG and brings a brand new design, dual cameras, and modular capabilities while still staying true to what an LG phone should be. With the new modular concept, it’s not just about what the G5 can do now but rather, what it’s capable of doing in the future, and that alone makes the LG G5 one very compelling smartphone.

If you are a parent, it’s easy enough to buy a smartphone for your son or daughter and sign them up for a monthly plan from one of the major carriers. However, giving a phone to a child is a big responsibility. A standard plan may not protect both kids and parents from potential issues like kids accessing objectionable content, spending too much time texting with friends, and more.
