According to its blog post, there are now 55 billion messages, 4.5 billion photos, and one billion videos being sent and shared every day amongst WhatsApp users. According to the FCC, nearly 19 million Americans lack access to fixed high-speed broadband. Not surprisingly, the majority (14.5 million) live in rural areas. Being without reliable internet access sucks. I know because I live in the middle of the woods in rural Missouri, where my only real option is satellite.
Fixed wireless internet isn’t an option and there aren’t any wired services other than dial-up. Satellite internet is an awful experience I hope you never have to go through.

It appears to be rolling out as a server-side update. Google Photos has powerful search features built-in, but discovering them hasn’t been easy when you’ve frequently had to type in the right phrases to find the snapshots you’re looking for.

Nokia wasn’t the only company to showcase new smartphones today, as Motorola also had a New York-based media event that has just ended. Naturally, we’re mostly interested in the latter’s new devices, which were made official today. These are, as expected, the Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR M, but also the unexpected, but-not-totally-unpredictable Droid RAZR Maxx HD, which is basically a version of the Droid RAZR HD with an even bigger battery.
If you decide to get the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, you may have expected that the phone would automatically come out of the box and ready to show videos and images on the phone’s full 2,960 x 1,440 resolution. However, that’s not quite true. A look at the fine print on Samsung’s website shows that out of the box, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will have FullHD+ display settings as its default, or 2,22 0 x1,080 resolution.
