Pandora has introduced a new Premium Family Plan. This plan gives the benefits of a Pandora account to up to six people for $14.99 a month. It is similar to family plans offered by both Spotify and Google Play Music. Pandora has added a new Premium Family Plan (as discovered by Android Police) to its list of subscription options. The Premium Family Plan offers all the features found in the regular Premium Plan, but for up to six people.
It has been quite some time since the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon meme was in the spotlight. For those who might have missed it, the concept entails that there exists no one working in Hollywood that is more than six movies (or contacts) away from Kevin Bacon himself. It is based on the old concept of six degrees of separation, which claims that no two people are further than six contacts or acquaintances apart.
Today’s Android flagships are sophisticated bits of technology, but some haven’t necessarily made huge leaps over previous handset generations in terms of tech or design.
Some of the best features from flagships gone by have even been forgotten or left behind, meaning that there’s a growing back catalogue of unique and feature rich smartphones that are often still competitive with some of today’s best smartphones.
In no particular order, here’s my list of old phones that are still probably worth keeping hold of, or even picking up for cheap if you’re shopping on a budget.

Google is doubling down on Material You, its reboot of Material Design. In an announcement made earlier this month, the company said it plans on expanding the Pixel-exclusive dynamic theming to other brands. Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Xiaomi, and other smartphone makers will be able to tap into Google’s APIs to allow apps, icons, and widgets to adapt their colors to your chosen wallpaper.
While this is a necessary step in Google’s strategy for a more cohesive Android experience, it doesn’t solve Material You’s biggest problem: It’s just wishful thinking.
These days, 4G and LTE are available in almost every major market without fail. But if you find yourself in a more rural or less developed area, 3G may still be your most reliable and widely available option. Unfortunately, today’s internet can be quite demanding, and 3G isn’t always up for the job. The good news is that there are little things you can do to make your experience better on 3G.
Bluetooth audio is continuing to gain traction in smartphone space, what with the 3.5 mm audio jack disappearing from some models and manufacturers continuing to produce better and better wireless headphones. As such, we’re hearing more and more about various wireless audio technologies too, like Qualcomm’s aptX codec, for example.
The technology popped up again recently following the discovery of a Google Issue Tracker report that suggests that Google isn’t going to implement support for Qualcomm’s Bluetooth codec on the Nexus 5X and 6P.

Google has an impressive knack of creating polarizing products. The Pixel series is no different. These are phones that have been lavished with critical praise as much as they’ve received scorn for lacking fundamental features you’d expect from a modern smartphone. 2019’s Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL exemplified this love-hate relationship many have with Pixel phones.
Me? I love Google phones, warts and all — have done ever since the Nexus 4.
