How to use loops in Java

A loop is a structure in programming that allows you to run the same section of code over and over. This can be used when you want to perform an iterative task (like counting, or sorting through a list) or to create an ongoing, cyclical experience for the user (as in a game loop). In this post, we will examine how to use loops in Java. Also read: How to use loops in Python

Samsung explains the absence of FM Radio on the Galaxy S4

If you’ve been reading up on the specs for the Galaxy S4 you may have noticed the absence of an FM Radio receiver. Unlike the previous handset in the Galaxy S series, all of which came with a built in FM Radio, the Galaxy S4 has opted to remove this feature in the belief that consumers just aren’t interested in the medium anymore. The Russian website Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru has managed to squeeze an official statement from Samsung about the matter:

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review!

Update (10/12): In an unfortunate turn of events, Samsung has fully recalled and halted sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Considering Samsung’s current official recommendation is to turn off and return the Note 7, we can obviously no longer officially recommend the phone. It’s a shame too, as this device was easily the best phone ever created by Samsung, and perhaps the best by any OEM in smartphone history, with a strong 9.

Songza's Music Concierge feature now available on Google Play

The Songza app, initially launched on the web and in Apple’s App Store, is already waiting for you inside Google Play. But the good news is that the app has now been updated to offer users the Music Concierge feature, which will help you play the right song at the right time. According to the developer, “each time you use Songza, you’re served the expertly-curated playlist that will help you wake up, workout, commute, focus, unwind, entertain, sleep (and just about anything else) better.

T-Mobile adjusts new unlimited plan due to customer backlash

If you thought the T-Mobile ONE plan drama wouldn’t end so easily, you were right. It seems like every few days we have another affair unfold, either from Sprint administering its own perversion of the term “unlimited” to the EFF protesting that Net Neutrality is being compromised. That’s not good press for the UnCarrier, so today it’s tweaking the new plan in an effort to win our hearts back, or at least simmer the uproar.

The Nexus 6 is getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat again

Way back in March, Google began updating Nexus 6 devices to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Following the discovery of a number of bugs, the update was subsequently, disappointingly, pulled, plonking Nexus 6 owners back on Android 7.0 (unless they opted to soldier on with the unstable 7.1.1 build). Now, Google has released a new and seemingly solid version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Nexus 6. The ~368 MB update, which was spotted by Android Police, is currently being rolled out to the Nexus 6 over-the-air.

Top tips to make learning Android development easier

Learning to program is not easy, and you shouldn’t let anyone else tell you otherwise! Sure, titles like “Learn to Program in 5 Minutes” might sound appealing (I’m sure I’ve been guilty of this at some point), but it’s just not that straightforward. It’s much easier to build an app by following step-by-step instructions. You can follow one of my 7 minute videos for instance to make a basic game or quiz (so don’t be put off!

Ainol Novo 10 Captain tablet unveiled with 1920 x 1200 pix res screen

If the race for the snappiest smartphone with the highest resolution display is not just on, but crazy heated, the competition for the 10-inch tablet with the coolest screen seems to have stagnated a bit lately. Apple and Google have basically brought into play the only two 10-inchers with a better display than the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 700, a tab that’s close to celebrating its six-month birthday. Furthermore, there are no major players to have come out with a 1920 x 1200 pix res panel identical to the Infinity, which is too bad, because that resolution and the 224 ppi pixel density make the display look just stunning.
