When the Pixel 4 launched back in October, we were all a little disappointed in the number of things you could do with its new Motion Sense feature. When we first saw Project Soli demoed back in 2014, it seemed like the capabilities of radar in your smartphone were endless. Instantly count cards in a stack. Identify objects. The Pixel 4 series was looking to be a very interesting series of devices.
It may seem strange to see an iPhone XS review on Android Authority, but it’s hard to deny the iPhone’s influence on the directions Android’s gone over the years. It’s also good to see what the competition has to offer.
Apple’s S year products tend to be more about internal upgrades than massive design changes, and the new iPhone XS and XS Max are no exception. For this review, we’re focusing specifically on the iPhone XS, but you can learn more about the Max here.
There are a few great deals in the circular, but the most notable one is an offer that gets you a Samsung Galaxy S10 for a total price of just $430, a savings of $470 off the list price.
Unfortunately, that deal (and the other Costco Black Friday deals on smartphones that we’ll get to in a minute) does require you to sign up for wireless service. In the case of the Galaxy S10 deal, you’ll need to both sign up for Verizon service as well as buy the device on a payment plan which will end up costing you $17.
Following yesterday’s keynote teaser, Qualcomm has followed up by lifting the lid on its latest mobile platform – the Snapdragon 845. Google acquired Word Lens years ago, giving Google Translate the nifty ability to translate words with the aid of a smartphone camera. It’s a rather practical feature, but it’s getting even better with a series of new additions.
For one, instant camera translation now supports over 60 more languages, allowing you to translate from 88 languages into over 100 tongues. Some of the prominent additions include Arabic, Hindi, Malay, Thai, and Vietnamese.

Motorola may have a unique, pocket-friendly rollable phone in the works. The phone will not expand to become a tablet-sized device. It’s still in the early stages of development. Motorola’s next foldable phone may be a new one in its Razr lineup, but that’s not its most exciting upcoming device. According to a new leak, that title could go to a unique rollable phone currently codenamed Felix.

Samsung just quietly launched a new wireless Samsung Dex keyboard. The keyboard is specifically designed with Dex in mind, even featuring a dedicated Dex button. Unfortunately, there are no release date, availability, or pricing details available. Samsung’s Dex platform is probably the most fully-fleshed-out Android desktop solution. With the latest Samsung phones and tablets, you can wirelessly use your device as if it were a desktop computer, with full access to all your apps and files.

You can pre-register for the game now on both Google Play and the iOS App Store. If certain pre-registration goals are reached before the release date, players will get some extra in-game items.
Today, Samsung formally launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series. Each year, the Note family represents the best-of-the-best when it comes to Samsung flagships. To know that, all you need to do is check out the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs.
Just like last year, the two devices in the Note 20 line are designed to act as foils to one another. The vanilla Note 20 represents a cheaper way to enter the Note ecosystem while the Note 20 Ultra is the “true” Note device of the year.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra may use a similar camera layout to its predecessor. This includes the use of two 10MP dedicated zoom lenses. The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus may see the most dramatic camera improvements of the three. Samsung has used the Ultra model in its S series range to push certain enthusiast technologies, camera zoom being one of its main focuses.
