Samsung's 2016 Galaxy S7 series just got September security patch

TL;DR Samsung has issued an update to the Galaxy S7 series. The update for the 2016 flagships simply brings the September 2020 security patch. Samsung announced earlier this year that it will be delivering three generations of Android version updates to a variety of devices. Unfortunately, the oldest phones and tablets included in this pledge only date back to 2019. So we’re quite surprised to see the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge now receiving an update, according to SamMobile and users on Reddit.

YouTube's dark mode is finally making its way to Android

TL;DR YouTube’s dark mode has been live on the web and on iOS for months now. After a long wait, Google is finally testing dark mode on Android. When the feature has fully rolled out, the option can be turned on and off by the user. After YouTube on the web received a dark mode late last year, Google announced that the option to change the theme would be coming to iOS and Android back in March.

Bose's earbuds keep you safe and don't seal to the ear

TL;DR The Bose Sport Open Earbuds leave your ear canal completely open, so you can hear your surroundings at all times. The earbuds have an IPX4 rating and support Bluetooth 5.1. They’re available now for $199.95. The Bose Sport Open Earbuds take a sharp turn from the company’s typical noise-cancelling offerings. These open-type earphones sit gently atop the ridge of your ear and let outside noise in. Some listeners may find this counterintuitive, but being aware of your surroundings is absolutely imperative for outdoor athletes.

LG G8 ThinQ Hand ID and Air Motion - How do they work?

The LG G8 ThinQ has powerful specs and a beautiful design, but so do many other smartphones. Some argue the phone doesn’t do much to stand out, something we agreed with in our LG G8 ThinQ full review. That’s not the full story though, the phone does have a handful of cool features that often get overlooked. Two of the most interesting features are Hand ID and Air Motion, which allow you to unlock and control your smartphone without touching it.

Motorola One Fusion launches wiith a Snapdragon 710, no pop-up camera

TL;DR Motorola One Fusion is a cheaper, stripped-down version of the Plus. It’s available in Latin America and, later this month, the Middle East. Last month the Motorola One Fusion Plus launched without much fanfare. On paper, it seems a pretty good deal for its €300 price tag. Now, Motorola’s introducing a lower-spec version of the phone without the Plus moniker. A similar story takes shape at the rear.

Multi lens cameras could be the future of smartphone photography, and sooner than you think

That five camera Nokia smartphones leak sure looks interesting, or should that be weird? As unique as such a design might seem, Nokia wouldn’t be the first to cram an unorthodox number of lenses and sensors into a small form factor. The Light L16 offered 16 lens photography back in 2015 and the company apparently has a new prototype in the works too. See above for a potential example. With the Huawei P20 Pro already sporting a triple camera design, a step up to a five camera smartphone doesn’t sound as ridiculous as it would have done just a couple of years ago.
