Fortnite pulled from Google Play Store; Epic files suit against Google (Update)

This was due to Epic Games launching a new direct payment system inside the app. Google claims this feature violates its app store policies. Update: August 13, 2020 (9:55PM ET): The Verge reports that Epic has filed a lawsuit against Google. It claims Google’s restrictions over Play Store payments violate US antitrust laws.

Google Pixel 5 may soon gain smart Adaptive Sound feature

Robert Triggs / Android Authority TL;DR Google is developing an automatic equalizer adjustment feature for Pixels. Dubbed Adaptive Sound, the feature tweaks audio settings based on environment acoustics. The Google Pixel 5 will likely receive the feature in an update, but it’s unclear if any other Pixels will join it. The forthcoming Google Pixel feature drop could include a new toy for music lovers. Dubbed Adaptive Sound, the feature was uncovered on a Google Pixel 5 by XDA‘s APK sleuths.

New Paramount Plus series starring Kate Beckinsale

Quick Charge 5: What to expect from 100W+ charging

Hot on the heels of Oppo’s 125W Flash Charging, Qualcomm has lifted the lid on Quick Charge 5. Qualcomm’s latest charging solution offers support for 100W of power and above, as well as backward compatibility with older Quick Charge versions and USB Power Delivery, including the PPS variant. Besides USB Power Delivery, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge is the only other widely supported charging standard, meaning we’ll likely see Quick Charge 5 inside a number of future smartphones from several manufacturers.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) review

Samsung refreshed the Galaxy A series of smartphones late last year, and as was the case with the original line, the lineup covers a variety of smartphones across the size, specifications, and price spectrum. Starting with the Galaxy S6, Samsung certainly seems to have found its path with regards to design and build quality, wand these carriers over to the the mid-range Galaxy A line, which all feature premium metal and glass unibody constructions.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 might ditch S20 Ultra's pointless camera feature

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra had arguably the best camera specs on paper in 2020, featuring a 108MP main camera and a 48MP 4x periscope camera. In fact, Samsung touted a 100x “Space Zoom” feature on the device, claiming 100x zoom. Now, frequent leaker Ice Universe has tweeted that the Galaxy Note 20 series won’t offer this feature. Note20 series no longer retains 100X zoom function We can’t say we’ll miss 100x Space Zoom, because it was essentially digital zoom anyway.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Review

It’s a mostly solid performer with great battery life, build quality, and a robust display – just wait for it to go on sale. The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is the smallest and cheapest of  Samsung’s latest trio of tablets but it’s packing the same amount of punch in terms of design and specifications.  The build quality is very typical Samsung with an all plastic construction and a fake leather back that still feels like plastic.

Some Samsung Galaxy S20 series screens are dying for no apparent reason

TL;DR Some Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus units are experiencing serious screen issues. The screen on affected phones turns green and/or white, effectively rendering the devices unusable. Samsung’s Galaxy S20 series was one of the most feature-packed phone families of last year, and these devices are still pretty great today. Unfortunately, it seems like some owners are reporting a major screen defect. Some Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus owners have taken to Samsung’s support forum, Reddit, and other platforms to complain of screen flickering that eventually results in the entire screen turning green and/or white (h/t: Android Police).
