Samsung's Exynos 850 chipset could be the most frugal SoC of 2020

TL;DR Samsung has quietly revealed more details about its Exynos 850 chipset. The processor is built on an 8nm design and features eight Cortex-A55 CPU cores. These design choices mean it could be the most power-efficient SoC of 2020. Samsung announced the Galaxy A21s last month, packing a big battery and quad rear cameras for ~$180. But the phone also serves up an Exynos 850 processor, and the brand has now listed the chipset on its website.

Xiaomi announces Mi Air Charge tech but it won't release this year

TL;DR Xiaomi has introduced a new wireless charging technology called Mi Air Charge. It can remotely charge your smartphone over the air. Mi Air Charge currently supports 5W charging. Update: January 29, 2021 (5:42 AM ET): A Xiaomi spokesperson told TechCrunch that the company won’t be commercializing Mi Air Charge this year. That means we can only expect the system to roll out sometime in 2022. The confirmation is disappointing but it’s probably for the best.
