You have until the end of the month to get your LG bootloader unlock key

TL;DR LG is shutting down its mobile developer website on December 31. You won’t be able to get a bootloader unlock key for your phone thereafter. So you should get the key now if you were thinking about rooting or installing custom ROMs. LG made the decision to exit the smartphone business earlier this year, although it promised up to three years of OS updates for its recent flagship phones.

Custom PS5 plates already available (Update: Sony says 'no')

Update, November 2, 2020 (03:45 PM ET): It looks like Sony wasn’t too happy with the idea of custom PS5 plates. The company formerly known as PlateStation (as described below) announced that it will no longer sell custom plates for the upcoming console. In a tweet, it says this was a direct result of Sony bringing the hammer down based on “patent and intellectual property issues.” PlateStation has now rebranded to “Customize My Plates” and will instead offer vinyl skin coverings for the PS5 and its accessories.

Does the new Google Store in New York City matter?

Though Google has experimented with pop-up stores in the past, it is calling this new establishment its “first” store, named the Google Store NYC. The store is located on the first floor of the company’s New York headquarters building on 9th Avenue. It officially opened on June 17. Prior to opening, Google said the new store will be a “natural extension of our commitment to NYC and provide customers with hands-on interaction with our lineup of devices and services.
