LG confirmed that it was retiring the G series name earlier this year, as it launched the LG Velvet instead. The new phone goes for an upper mid-range approach compared to the flagship G series, but it remains to be seen if it will have better sales.
So with the Velvet out of the door, we thought it would be a good time to look back and ask you to pick your favorite LG G series smartphone.
It was only a few weeks ago that we were telling you about the end of Oath — the Verizon-owned media conglomerate — and the beginning of the aptly-named Verizon Media Group. Now here we are, announcing that the newly-renamed company is laying off about 800 employees, or about seven percent of its staff.
The source of this information is an anonymous person who shared an email with CNBC. The internal memo was sent to employees by VMG CEO Guru Gowrappan.

Generally, whenever Apple announces a new iPhone, it also announces a new System-on-a-Chip. Inevitably, comparisons are made between Apple’s latest SoC and the latest offerings from Qualcomm, Samsung, Google, and MediaTek. AT&T scared customers with an email telling them to upgrade phones to continue service. However, it didn’t say customers had until February 2022 to switch, making some wonder if it was a scam. The carrier said the omission was a mistake. Android Police reports that AT&T customers received an email message telling them their phones are “not compatible” with its latest network technology and need to be upgraded to “continue receiving service.
Update (5/12): Launching with Android Go today, Files Go has now graduated from beta status and is available for everyone in the Play Store.
Update (11/9): Google Files Go is now available to download in an early beta build on the Play Store. The app briefly showed up on the store earlier this week before it was pulled. Apparently Google is now happy for us all to give it a try and is welcoming feedback to help improve the app for its official launch sometime in the future.

Budget phones are all the hype, and these two are industry favorites. The Google Pixel 4a is known for its simplicity, a drop-dead $349 MSRP, and the same amazing camera performance Pixel phones are known for. It could very well be the best camera phone at its price range, but there is another main competitor with an incredible camera already in the mid-range market: Apple’s iPhone SE.
The Google Pixel Buds 2 will get updates in the form of “feature drops,” similar to the way Pixel smartphones receive updates. That should allow the company to keep the headphones current with new stuff to keep users happy with their relatively expensive earbud purchase.
