Garmin vívoactive 3 and vívomove HR hands on review

IFA 2017 is here and manufacturers have been holding press events for the past several days to show off their latest and greatest gadgets. GPS tech and wearable manufacturer Garmin is among them, taking to the stage a couple of days ago to introduce three new wearable products. These arrived in the form of the vívoactive 3, its flagship, feature-packed watch that comes with its all-new mobile payments system, the vívomove HR, a stylish, hybrid smartwatch, and the vívo sport, the company’s latest fitness band (read an overview of the three devices here).

Huawei Band 7 and Watch GT 3 Pro launched (Updated with pricing)

The GT 3 Pro offers a classic aesthetic masquerading as a smartwatch. Both devices are in China only for now but should make their way to other territories soon. Update, May 13, 2022 (04:18 PM ET): A new report by WinFuture says the Band 7 will be available in Europe, or at least Germany, for €59 (~$61).

Popular PC app 7-Zip has a major flaw on Windows (Updated: Disputed)

The flaw is now disputed, with one analyst even claiming it was a hoax. Update: May 3, 2022 (3:40 AM ET): Questions have been raised over an apparent 7-Zip vulnerability disclosed last month. The vulnerability is now marked as disputed on the CVE Program website, which tracks and catalogs disclosed vulnerabilities.

Samsung One UI 2.0 beta for S10 launches in three more countries

Update, October 24, 2019 (09:50 AM ET): According to SamMobile, the Samsung One UI 2.0 beta program for the Galaxy S10 family is now live in three more countries, bringing the total to six altogether. The three new countries are India, Poland, and France. These three join the previous three: Germany, South Korea, and the United States. If you own the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, or S10e in any of these six countries, you can register your interest in joining the beta through the Samsung Members app.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 20 and Z Flip 5G now come in red and white hues

TL;DR Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 is now available in a limited edition Mystic Red color. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is available in an equally limited Mystic White. Both are available now for the same price as other hues. Samsung thinks it has a simple way to spark smartphone sales going into the holidays: offer colors that were previously unavailable in the US. The company has unveiled a “limited” Mystic Red edition of the Galaxy Note 20 as well as a similarly rare Mystic White version of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

There could be at least 10 million Google Pixel phones in use right now

As per the app’s Play Store listing, there could be millions of modern Pixel phones currently out there. The app is exclusive to Google phones running Android 12. This Moto Z Mod adds wireless charging and looks just like a case

A new Moto Z mod is in development that would give the handset an IR Blaster and wireless charging capabilities in a slim profile. The Ultimate Moto Z Mod is being designed for Motorola’s Transform the Smartphone challenge, which asks independent creators to produce a Moto Z mod prototype for the chance to have it sold nationwide by Verizon. The Ultimate Moto Z Mod is barely thicker than a regular Moto shell case, at just over 3mm, and is being funded on IndieGoGo in accordance with the competition rules.
