Getting AOSP onto Pixel devices has not always been that straightforward, yet it’s often a necessity for developers. Google wants to make the process a lot simpler so devs can get to work that much easier. Over on the Android Developers Blog, Google just announced the new Android Flash Tool which lets you flash stock AOSP onto your Pixel device from within your browser. Users will still have to manually enable USB debugging, unlock the bootloader, and install the ADB drivers onto their computer.

Update, August 7, 2019 (11:14AM EST): In an about-face, Samsung quietly promoted the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge back up to quarterly updates. In April, the company removed the two 2016 flagships from its quarterly updates list. We’re not sure if Samsung will keep updating the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge once we enter 2020. That said, the company’s U-turn on the matter means people can hold onto the smartphones for a little while longer.

Just a few days ago, Google launched in-app billing on the Android market, allowing users to have full access to applications, games and the like.  Talking about games, the longest running and the most downloaded music game of all time, Tap Tap Revenge 4, now features in-app billing. And guess what – it’s free! Tap Tap Revenge has been an immensely popular and highly regarded music game on the iPhone for years.

The Google app has seen a lot of updates so far this year. The familiar card layout has had some visual flair added to it and more and more content seems to be packed in every time you open it. Some users with Google App version 7.11 or 7.12 beta are now able to place icons on their home screen for the Dining, Entertainment, and Sports categories.

Following a series of teasers on Twitter, Xiaomi has finally announced the Mi Band 3i. Designed specifically for India, the wearable makes a few omissions over the Mi Band 4 to hit a much more affordable price point. Positioned as an upgrade over the Mi Band HRX, the 3i features a larger 0.78-inch display. The AMOLED panel is touch capable, and you can swipe around to launch activities or jump between display panels.
