Earlier this month Samsung quietly took the wraps off its new lower-end Galaxy Tab 4 series, which includes three models: 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1. At the time, all we knew for sure is that the tablet series would start shipping in the U.S. during Q2 of this year. Today Samsung revealed that all three models will go on sale beginning on May 1st. The Galaxy Tab 4 models will be available through major retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy and are to be priced at $199.

TL;DR Samsung Neon won’t appear on the Galaxy S21 or any other Galaxy device in the near future. The artificial human is meant for business use and will release as an API in 2021. Update (06/15): The Xperia Home launcher is dead, long live the new Xperia Home launcher? That’s going to be the case according to Erika Prymus from the Xperia Home team who has now confirmed that a new Home app is n the works (via Xperia Blog). As we noted below, it’s a strange move to retire one launcher only to develop another with potentially the same branding, but that’s exactly what Sony appears to be doing.

Whether you’re a helicopter parent or just have kids who neglect their homework, Verizon’s FamilyBase seems like a pretty decent option. But the U.S. network has opted to rebrand the service, now going by the Smart Family moniker. The service, which costs $4.99 a month, offers a suite of controls for parents. This allows them to pause internet access to a specific phone, implement content filters to block inappropriate websites and apps, and view the battery status on your child’s phone.

Update, May 1, 2020 (1:30AM ET): According to an update from Android Police, unlocked OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models will now work on Verizon’s network. The carrier has reportedly certified unlocked variants of both phones. OnePlus had previously said that unlocked OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro units would not be able to work on Verizon’s network until June at the latest. Thankfully, the issue seems to be resolved now and you can start using your brand new OnePlus flagship with Big Red’s services.

Computer vision and augmented reality technology has made amazing strides in the last few years. One of the coolest examples is Google Lens’s ability to copy real-world text and paste it into an app. Now, a new AR Cut and Paste app by programmer Cyril Diagne (h/t: PhoneArena) shows the ability to take a snap of a real-world object, have it cut out of its background, and pasted into Photoshop.
