Gestures have been a mainstay of our smartphone experience since the advent of multi-touch displays. We no longer think before pinching and zooming when viewing photos, nor do we stop and consider why we’re pulling down to refresh Twitter. We expect specific things to happen when we interact with the content on our screens in a specific way. But there’s more to Android gestures than just the basic ones. Our ecosystem is filled with sometimes obvious, sometimes hidden, interactions, and we’re here to explore some of the coolest ones.
The intersection of technology and pop culture is nothing new. In the early 2010’s, a glut of tech companies appointed celebrities to bring their…unique vision to their products including Microsoft, BlackBerry, Polaroid, and Intel. The latter is the most significant because unlike other celebrities, Intel’s Director of Creative Innovation, will.i.am, took that ball and ran with it with a tenacity and indomitable spirit that we here at Android Authority can’t help but admire.

Many Android users are experiencing problems with sending and receiving messages. The issue has now lasted for days. An update to Google’s carrier services app seems to be the culprit. If you’ve had trouble with SMS services on your Android phone lately, you’re not alone. Many users with LG, OnePlus, Samsung, Motorola, and other Android phones are reporting that they’ve been unable to send and receive messages for the past couple of days.
Bluetooth has become an integral technology on smart devices and mobile phones. As the wireless glue that connects smart devices, it’s something most of us probably leave switched on all day connected to headphones or smartwatches.
NFC, too, now features on more and more devices. Initially absent from most low-end devices, it enables mobile payments and device pairing. It’s become another technology that phones would feel ill-equipped without.
With this said, should you leave these radios on all day?
Update (11/28/18): With rumors of a newHary Potter game just around the corner, we thought it would be a good time to revisit Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Mystery.
It’s no surprise developers are clamoring for a piece of the relatively untapped goldmine that is the Harry Potter IP. Jam City’s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is the first mobile game to take a stab at it, promising to let players work their way from a lowly first year student to full fledged wizard.

The Samsung Galaxy S11 — A.K.A. the Galaxy S20 — is set to launch on February 11. How do we know this? Unfortunately for Samsung, an official promotional video went live a little early which outs the date of its marquee Unpacked 2020 event.
The video was spotted by Max Weinbach (XDA Developers) and Twitter user @water8192. It shows two boxy shapes emerging from beneath a cover. At the end of the video, the boxes settle into the Galaxy logo and February 11, 2020 is stated as the date for the Unpacked event.

Information just leaked related to hardware and software features of the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro camera. There appears to be good news and bad news related to their photography and videography capabilities. Since this is a leak, there’s no way to know if the information will hold up for the actual release of the phones. For a few weeks now, XDA-Developers has been communicating with an anonymous source who claims to have a working Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The US Samsung Galaxy S22 prices have leaked. Overall, pricing remains the same as what we saw in 2021 with the Galaxy S21 series. Samsung will announce the series on February 9, 2022. As with any year, we’re expecting a bevy of upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S22 family. We expect better build materials (including a glass back for the vanilla model), better cameras, better processors, etc. We’re also expecting the Galaxy S22 Ultra to be akin to a Galaxy Note 22 Ultra, with an S Pen slot and everything.
