Update, May 12, 2020 (1:45AM ET): Some more information has surfaced on LG’s bizarre rotating screen phone. According to ETNews, the device is code-named “Wing” and will carry a 4-inch second screen in addition to a 6.8-inch main display.
Unlike LG’s current dual-screen accessories which are the same size as the phone display and help in multitasking, the new “Wing” phone’s shorter second screen is reportedly aimed at improving the content experience and interaction.
There won’t be a TCL foldable phone coming to consumers anytime soon. The company has issued a statement confirming that it has decided to suspend the development of its first such device indefinitely.
In a statement from Stefan Streit, CMO of TCL Communication, the company said it had invested “billions of dollars” in researching new display technology. That included working on foldable phones and flexible displays. Indeed, the company has been showing off prototypes of such devices to the press for over two years.
As tech enthusiasts, we have extremely high standards. Gone are the days when ‘good enough’ is good enough and, instead, we expect faster, bigger, thinner, better, more, more, more. And as our demands get greater, we’ve developed a tendency to see devices for their shortcomings instead of their strengths.
Despite all the impressive features that smartphones have today, there are certain things that will always be more important, like the battery. You might even say that a device can only be as good as its battery; after all, if a smartphone doesn’t have enough power to let you use its impressive features, it might as well not have those features at all.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 offers tons of improvements over its predecessor, but arguably the crowning jewel is Sony’s vastly improved controller. With the DualSense, games feel better on PS5 than any other system. Aside from having a better build quality and smooth design, the highlight of the PS5’s DualSense controller is the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that adapt to every instance of gameplay.

The techies among us will know how much we obsess over fancy gadgets. We all want the best camera the industry can stick in a smartphone and spend small fortunes acquiring them. Is that absolutely necessary, though?
We have heard it time and again: a good photographer can take a fantastic shot with any camera. How true is this? As with anything else we talk about around here, the answer is not as straightforward as we would wish.
Digital video has come a long way since the early 2000s. We’ve seen picture quality improve leaps and bounds, in tandem with the introduction of new display technologies like OLED. As consumers too, we have higher expectations than ever before, both at home and on portable devices such as smartphones and tablets. Codecs enable all of this, compressing large swathes of raw information into a video file that’s much more manageable for storage, broadcast, and distribution.

The LG V60 might be one of the most underrated flagship phones of 2020, and we actually thought it was the firm’s best phone in years. LG just about managed to buck the trend of $1,000+ phones seen from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, and even Xiaomi.
Coming in at a starting price of $800 without the Dual Screen case, you’re getting one of the most powerful Android processors on the market, a big battery, wireless charging, and water resistance.
Spider-Man: No Way Home was already one of the most highly anticipated films of 2021 months before it was finally released in December. However, no one predicted that Tom Holland’s third stand-alone Spider-Man movie would become not just the year’s biggest hit in ticket sales, but one of the biggest box office successes of all time, both in the US and worldwide.
It stands to reason that when Spider-Man: No Way Home finally drops as a streaming release, it will get a ton of attention.
We’ve seen loads of Android gaming smartphones in the last few years, often featuring plenty of power, a high refresh rate, and extra inputs such as shoulder triggers. But dedicated Android-based handhelds from major companies have been few and far between.
It looked like Lenovo was preparing to unveil one such device at MWC 2021 according to details found on its own website. It’s unclear whether the firm still plans to release the Lenovo Legion Play device, but it offered a full suite of gaming controls (including two analog sticks), a 7,000mAh battery, and more.
