Back with the launch of Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, it was revealed that Google included an extra chip in the phone alongside the main processor. Known as the Pixel Visual Core, the chip is aimed squarely at enhancing the phone’s image processing capabilities. The chip has returned once more inside Google’s latest Pixel 3 and 3 XL. According to Google, the secondary chip is designed to compile HDR+ images 5 times faster than an application processor — with 1/10th the power consumption.

Google released an Android app for its Android Device Manager service which allows users to locate, ring, lock, and wipe devices remotely. Previously, the service was only available via a web interface. Android Device Manager first launched in early August, giving users who lost or misplaced their devices the possibility to find them or secure them against prying eyes. The ADM app has exactly the same functionality as the web version, but the interface is faster and far more suitable for a mobile device screen.

Because there isn’t enough madness in the world already, T-Mobile has teamed up with Samsung to do an underwater Galaxy S8 unboxing video surrounded by sharks. The video features T-Mobile Product Manager Desmond “Des” Smith unboxing and attempting to provide an overview of the Galaxy S8 while in full scuba gear.
