Google’s Chrome OS had a small footprint during the CES 2019 technology show in Las Vegas. Models were scarce compared to Windows 10 devices, though Asus wasn’t shy with its portfolio of five Chromebooks for the mainstream and education markets. The big Chromebook news during the show stemmed from AMD. The company now dishes out all-in-one A-Series “c” processors, aka Accelerated Processing Units, revised and optimized for Google’s Chrome OS platform.

Google is good at a lot of things – including making beautiful wallpapers. Nexus wallpapers are known for their minimalist beauty, and judging by some of the leaked Nexus 2016 wallpapers, this year will be no exception. We don’t know a whole lot about the upcoming Nexus phones: codenamed “Sailfish,” the alleged 5 inch FHD smartphone will be made by HTC, sporting a quad-core chipset and a 12-megapixel rear camera. Rumor has it Google will also unveil a bigger Nexus phone – just like last year – codenamed “Marlin” with the same chipset and camera but a bigger 3,450mAh battery.

Gmail notifications could be less annoying soon

It would allow you to pause mobile notifications while you’re using the browser version of Gmail. This appears to be a very limited test run at the moment, so it might be a while before we see it. Google has finally noticed how much of a nuisance this is and is working on a potential solution.

Google Text-to-speech adds multiple male and female voices

Be together, not the same. Such is Google‘s motto as of late, so it makes no sense that everyone’s Text-to-speech voice sounds the same. I still wish I could listen to Snoop Dog’s graceful voice reading Android Authority articles out loud. We are not quite there yet, but at least things are getting a little better. Pokémon Go's Battle Showdown event is all about fighting Pokémon

TL;DR Niantic announced the Battle Showdown event for Pokémon Go. During the event, Fighting-type Pokémon will appear more frequently and players will get additional goodies for certain activities. The Battle Showdown event goes from now through May 14. Starting at 4:00 p.m. ET through May 14, players will notice that Fighting-type Pokémon, such as Machop and Makuhita, will appear more frequently. Niantic did not say whether other Fighting-type Pokémon will be frequent spawns, though this is welcome news for those looking to attain Hitmontop.
