It has been over a year since Silent Circle released its Blackphone handset, in June 2014. The phone was among the first security-focused devices to become relatively successful, and we now find ourselves waiting for the second iteration, which was announced at MWC 2015. Almost everything about the Blackphone 2 has been revealed, except for the most important factors – price and release date.
There’s good news for those who have been hoping to learn more about the handset.

Google has announced an Android features update that is coming soon for most users. They include some features that were previously just on Pixel phones, including Locked Folder in Google Photos. New accessibility features are also rolling out, along with some ways to remote control your Google TV-based television via your phone. Android 12 might be just a few weeks away from launching. However, if your phone isn’t supposed to get the new OS for a while, you can still expect to see some new Android features via updates that will begin to roll out today.
The Galaxy Note range has traditionally followed the Galaxy S flagships in terms of design and the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are no different, bringing a new design that’s almost identical to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge but in a larger form factor.
Like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, both of Samsung’s new devices are made from a metal frame combined with a Gorilla Glass 4 panel on the front and rear.

Updated, November 6, 2020 (17:53 PM): Google got back to Android Authority with an explanation about the app described below. As it turns out, this app first became active in July of this year, but only in Kenya. In that country, Google partnered with companies to get Android Go phones to people who otherwise couldn’t afford one. The Device Lock Controller app is thus intended to help creditors prevent defaulted loans for those devices.
Intel was, and in some regards still is, the biggest name in the personal computer processor industry, but the company has failed to achieve this same level of success in the mobile market over the past decade. The company has seen a few Android products built around its Atom processors and modems, but has not had anything close to the industry wide success seen by some of its mobile competitors.

A leak appears to show a flat display on the Galaxy S21 Plus. It also illustrates how the two-tone design could look in real life. Samsung is expected to reveal more on January 14. Samsung appears poised to join Apple and others in ditching curved screens on at least some of its high-end phones. YouTuber Mauri QHD has posted what he claims are real-life photos of the Galaxy S21 Plus, and they suggest you’ll get a truly flat display on the larger (but not largest) 2021 flagship.

The latest NVIDIA Shield TV early access release brings Shield Experience to version 7.1. Although the update doesn’t bring Android 8.1 Oreo, it does bring 120Hz support and screen recording via NVIDIA Share. The 7.1 update is in early access at the moment and will thus likely get a wide release in the next month or so. If you’re a member of the NVIDIA Shield TV early access program, you’ll likely receive an update to Shield Experience 7.

A newly-leaked image shows a Nokia smartphone with five rear camera lenses. The lenses are organized in a circular fashion, which is a little unsettling. The leaked image lines up with other news pertaining to Nokia’s future camera plans. Before we get into the news here, we should warn you: if you’re trypophobic you might not want to scroll down. If you don’t know what trypophobic means, we’d advise you not to Google it, as it will probably give you nightmares.
A USB Charger is a funny thing. You have about 10 of them in a drawer at home, but maybe only one of them really charges your device properly. And chances are, that particular one is at the back of the sofa or under your bed, never to be seen again.
Since USB Type-C charging has been implemented on the latest phones and devices, the problem has got even worse. Different chargers operate at different voltages and offer different wattage.

Verizon Wireless said it would launch an unlimited plan next week with no speed caps for data use. The announcement comes after firefighters, combating wildfires in California, had their data speeds throttled when using Verizon’s networks. Verizon has since apologized and has removed all speed caps for those firefighters, along with first responders in Hawaii that are dealing with Hurricane Lane. Verizon Wireless is finally going to offer a truly unlimited plan for its phone customers — but it took a natural disaster to make it happen.
