Update, February 20, 2020 (10:50 AM ET): It looks like Samsung is pointing to an “internal test” as the culprit for the strange notification some Samsung smartphone users saw earlier today. In a tweet on the matter, the official Samsung Help Twitter account in the United Kingdom addressed the issue:
Recently, a notification about “Find My Mobile 1” occurred on a limited number of Galaxy devices. This was sent unintentionally during an internal test and there is no effect on your device.
After testing the waters with the Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung went all in with the concept with its flagship Galaxy S6 Edge, that features not one, but two curved display extensions. Adding to it the more premium build quality with its metal and glass unibody glass construction, the Galaxy S6 Edge is sure to catch the eye of anybody that comes across it. The device is also available in a variety of colors, and to help make your choice easier, here is a quick look at the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge color comparison!
If you look down the specification sheet of any modern day smartphone you will see that it supports a growing number of wireless technologies, 2G GSM, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The 2G, 3G and 4G technologies are about making phone calls and sending/receiving data via cell towers. Wi-Fi is primarily about data via a local access point, while Bluetooth is for very close proximity data transfer. The progress from 2G to 3G, and from 3G to 4G LTE has been primarily about improvements to the standards related to cellular technology.

Android lead Dave Burke says that the Android 12 beta program is so popular it’s setting records. Burke says the beta is the “most downloaded/installed beta ever.” The new look and customization features are likely big reasons for the excitement. Google has a long history of offering beta programs for the newest Android releases. With the launch of Pixel phones in 2016, the company now even has a dedicated suite of testing hardware with willing users all over the world ready to test things out for free.
Now this is something you don’t see every day – XDA member Northmendo released an automated rooting tool and ADB installer, to help Mac users get the most of their Android devices. So, if you’re one of those fellows that can’t make up their minds between the dark side, err, I meant Apple, and Android, you can now go on and mess with your Android phone, without requiring access to a Windows or Linux PC.
The CyanogenMod project has finally acknowledged that the 1,000,000+ devices running CyanogenMod come with a gaping security hole – default root access. With privacy issues and app permissions becoming more of a concern to smartphone users, running a jail-broken (rooted) device negates any security and data safeguards that Google has tried to build into the OS.
So, in an attempt to keep everyone happy, while improving security, the team has decided on a compromise that will allow enthusiasts to keep using root privileges but also provide better default security for the majority of users.
