WhatsApp set to gain reverse image search functionality

WhatsApp already has a few measures to limit the spread of fake news and hoaxes, but the Facebook-owned messaging platform isn’t finished yet. The company is reportedly adding Google’s reverse image search functionality to the app. The feature was spotted by serial tipster WABetaInfo, but it’s not available to users just yet. Nevertheless, you’ll apparently be able to conduct a reverse image search by highlighting a photo, then choosing a new “search image” option that appears in the three-dot menu.

5G, fast screens, and more

Robert Triggs / Android Authority Everything changed in 2020. With COVID-19, much of the world’s population was forced to quarantine in the hopes of preventing the spread of the virus. That led us to become reliant on video calls and social networks far more than we had been in the past. Our phones helped keep us connected, entertained, and distracted from the relative horrors of the world around us. Thankfully, mobile tech kept innovation apace throughout the year despite the hellfire that was 2020.

Android N and the Nexus 6P let you experience the future of Android VR and multi-tasking, without the wait

Breaking away from the tradition it started with Android L, Google didn’t wait until Google I/O to make the Android N preview available and instead released it back in March. Since that time, we’ve had two additional previews, with the latest “beta-quality” preview touching down recently during Google I/O 2016. The latest preview doesn’t look too different from earlier releases on the surface, but underneath there are tons of new APIs, as well as bug fixes and software improvements, that make Android N a very stable affair for the few Nexus devices lucky enough to support it.

This means that NDK games/apps can squeeze more performance out of devices. Here is your guide on how to use the Android NDK. Android SDK tutorial for beginners

Hacker made the USB-C iPhone Apple refuses to make

Robert Triggs / Android Authority TL;DR Someone hacked together an iPhone with a working USB-C port. YouTube user Kenny Pi uploaded a video of the working iPhone to his YouTube channel. Apple has refused to use USB-C in its iPhones, despite switching to the port on its MacBook and iPad devices. Ever since the switch away from the big ol’ 30-pin connectors in the iPhone 4, every iPhone since has used Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector for charging and data transfers.

How to customize your audio profile on the Galaxy S8

The speakers built into most phones aren’t exactly the best sounding things in the world. Especially with the lack of dual-speaker devices, the single tweeter in a phone usually outputs audio that is both a bit tinny and usually not so customizable. The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus may still only have one speaker, but Samsung has included some pretty intricate settings for those who want to get the best audio experience from their device.
