Thunderbolt 4 is coming: Here's everything you need to know

TL;DR Thunderbolt 4 guarantees 40Gb/s speeds. The next-gen connector will be fully compatible with USB 4. It will ship with upcoming Tigerlake-based laptops. Intel’s plans to make Thunderbolt a viable alternative to USB-C on its own might not have come to fruition. But following last year’s decision to contribute the protocol specification to the USB promoter group, the company made some decidedly consumer-friendly moves today. Intel calls Thunderbolt 4, the “most complete version of USB-C,” and a lot of that has to do with the fact that it shares the same base protocol with USB 4.

Trojan horse apps found disguised as legit Google Play Store apps, company reveals

Google Play is usually regarded as a safe place from where Android users can download applications without having to worry about malicious code or other security threats. Even when the app in question asks for some strange-looking permission, we tend to stray away any bad thoughts because theoretically, there is no way an official market overseen by experienced developers could be infected. Action Launcher finally includes dark theme

Now available on the Play Store, Action Launcher v42 finally includes theme support. That means you can now pick between light, dark, and full dark themes. The full dark theme will look particularly great on AMOLED panels. However, the difference in battery savings compared to the normal dark theme is negligible. Quicktheme now also integrates better with the current theme. For example, you can set the search box to change with your wallpaper, but have the folder background tint change with the theme and the app drawer ignore any changes.

Android fragmentation will never end, here's why

Android fragmentation is a constant issue for the world’s most popular operating system. While high-end consumers are treated to a fresh Android version each year, another version comes along before it can even hit the top spot for market share. In the more affordable tiers, it’s still all too common to be a year out of date, along with infrequent updates and missing security patches. Google has put plenty of effort into addressing the issue over the years, although it’s doubtful that Android fragmentation can ever be truly solved.
