Samsung brings new emojis to Galaxy Note7 with battery icon update

After seeing companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google bring the more politically correct and diverse Unicode 9.0 emojis, I was a bit concerned by Samsung’s inaction. But it seems like the South Korean tech giant has finally decided to bring Unicode 9.0 emoji support to the Galaxy Note7 with the “green battery icon” update. Better late than never, eh?

Well, that’s not the only thing that this update will bring it seems. According to Emojipedia, Samsung will bring Unicode 9.0 emoji support to the Note7 – a first for Samsung – with the ability to modify skin tones. The new additions include a selfie-taking hand emoji and a slightly more vulgar hand gesture as well as more food and animal emojis.

The update also brings some changes to the existing emojis. As you can see above, some faces have been revised, but they are very subtle. If you are curious to see all the changes and new emojis that Samsung is bringing with the latest Note7 update, Emojipedia has the full list. Although it seems like the update is for Galaxy Note7 users only for now, we are fairly certain that the emoji update will also make it to other Galaxy users in the near future.

Guess which country uses the most emoji every day? ?
